A report issued Oct. 15 by the Institute of Medicine shows that smoking bans in places like restaurants, bars, offices and other public places reduce the rates of heart attacks and heart disease. Thursday, October 15th, 2009Haines voters passed a smoke-free ordinance that prohibits smoking in all public places, INCLUDING RESTAURANTS AND BARS! Unalaska went smoke-free in August, and Anchorage, Juneau, Klawock, Bethel and Sitka have all been smoke-free for a while. If they can do it, why can’t we?
